Tube Screamers are obviously a well known "Overdrive" pedal.  They provide warmth and a creamy drive with the signature "humped mids" that many love.  Our idea for a TS-9 Mod is not to destroy and change what the pedal does but instead allow you to create a pedal with your setup in mind.  We first start with our basic TS-9 Modifications and from there allow you to choose the changes and Mods needed to fit your tone. 

The basic PepTone TS-9 Mod is still very much a Tube Screamer but it is now beefed up on the lows with more clarity and definition to the highs.  We wanted to keep the Mids featured to keep this a Tube Screamer tone but we felt the overall pedal could use more Meat and definition to the overall tone and pedal.  End result is a more complex tone with a more responsive EQ that allows each string to stand out individually.  We then give the gain knob a wider range to go from a nice gritty clean setting to a juicy smooth high drive.  The pedal is then modified with the 808 Mods or also known as the Brown Mods.  Then we upgrade the OpAmp with a higher quality 4588 chip.  A few other fidelity upgrades and now your ready to cook!  This PepTone TS-9 is a VERY polished and true Tube Screamer tone with a more meatier experience.  We wanted to produce a pedal that can take a tele, strat or even humbuckers and give you a TS-9 tone that makes you feel like the pedal ignites the amp.  This basic Mod to us is fantastic and excellent but we wanted to offer some add on Mods to give the user a Tube Screamer that can deliver an overdrive with a more custom approach.

TS-9 Gain Toggle Mod: This is a three position toggle switch that gives you a diverse range of clipping choices: The first position is a "standard" clipping that the vintage Tube Screamers have.  Second toggle is a "Boosted" clipping section that pushing a very natural and organic overdrive with much more headroom available.  Third toggle is a Asymmetrical clipping that is more complex gain that responds more to dynamics and creates enhanced overdrive harmonics.

TS-9 True Bypass Mod: True Bypass! Ditch the JFET switching and go all true bypass for the puriest tone possible.  (This mod adds a switch in the Ibanez logo and the "normal stock" switch is no longer working)

TS-9 EQ Toggle: This two way toggle gives you the standard classic Mid Hump OR a flatter EQ to fine tune the pedal for your guitar setup.
