The Idea of the Mod:

The Boss MT-2 Metal Zone is quite the flexible High Gain Distortion pedal.  It carries the capability to dial in a specified tone with the various EQ knob options. The PepTone MT-2 Mod is quite the modification the pedal needed that actually expands the EQ further and turns the pedal into a "High Gain Boutique Amp Tone" pedal...we like to call it high gain bliss.

The Mod:

*Upgraded Key Op-Amp fora more organic gain experience. This really gives you the character and flavor of the "High Gain Amp". 

*Mids Mod - Big changes here.  The Mids knob makes changes but seems nasally at some points and others its a flabby Mid section.  This Mod really beefs up the Mid section with wider range and control. 

*Overall beefed up EQ options.  This allows you to dial in your type of EQ. Not shrill and not flabby.  The stock pedal gets a flabby low frequency with the gain, this gives a less than appealing low section. This EQ mod makes the pedal versatile.  Dial in some scooped shred metal distortion all the way to pushed classic rock boogie gain.

*3-position toggle Mod - This toggle allows you to get a smooth "rectifier", "open" and "standard". The rectifier gets a more smoother gain section.  Really gets that thicker gain without grittiness.  The Open setting gets a more boosted organic gain.  Feels like that "stack being pushed" type tone. The Standard setting is more of a straight forward distortion/gain.  It's more of the typical gain you would expect from a distortion pedal.  Can really dial in great sustain.
