The Idea of the Mod:

If your looking for a tone purist overdrive with great life and character.  You have arrived!

Supreme Overdrive.  This Mod is our favorite overdrive: The PepTone Boss SD-1 Supreme Modification.  It's rich and enhanced with a great smooth warm overdrive tone that also has great versatility. The SD-1 is a "Tube Screamer-like" overdrive but has some characteristics and qualities that make the pedal it's own.  The PepTone SD-1 Supreme Mod takes those qualities and focuses on an overdrive that beats the snot out of those boutique "Clone" overdrives. Give it a shot. Put it up against your "XXXXDrive" pedal.  The PepTone SD-1 Supreme Mod sounds thick, tube like, full and gives your guitar definition for those tone purists.  We also fix the "GHOST" when the pedal is off.  (at high gains if the pedal is off the user would experience a slight clipping in the background which is known as the "Ghost").  This is fixed!

Added micro toggle gives you two different settings: 1.) A vintage smooth clipping with vintage voicing.  2.) A more modern "Boomy" full body tone with a hint of gritty clipping. 

Some like to turn this pedal into a gain pedal, something more like a distortion.  We wanted to keep this as a warm Overdrive pedal  but add some versatility. 

Thick tube tone that saturates well but keeps a focus on letting the strings still ringout.

This pedal makes a great clean character boost.  It doesn't color your tone too much but gives you that real nice tube push on low gains.  A real pleasure with those clean tone lovers. High gains give you real feel saturation, back off on the guitar and feel the pedal back off...now go back and feel the pedal push to the limit.  Total control.

The Mod:

*Upgraded Stacked Op-Amp Combo for more touch and transparency and adds a more complex tone. Overall, the pedal is much more dynamic and sensitive to your playing.

*Tone is modified with several Mods to keep the Overdrive feel but beef up the overal tone to allow the strings to individually stand out. The stock pedal seems to loose character the more you turn up the gain. Now you can really hear the pedal work the more you use the drive knob.  Real natural and pristine sturation. Gives the pedal "life" that still has the fat tube tone.

*Toggle for clipping and Mids Mod: Added toggle switch for clipping and voicing options! Two options: Vintage clipping and voicing (Mid-Hump) with a smooth based clipping with that tube type compression.  Toggle the other way for a more "Full Body" Overdrive pusher with a bit more open saturation to give a hint of grit.

*Ghost Mod fixes the common high gain setting ghost problem with this pedal. When the pedal is turned off, there would be this "ghost" and/or "bleed" of the guitar effect. Really annoying. This is COMPLETELY GONE!

*Focused Mids without getting any flabby bass, again, more tube like feel without flabby bass.

*Upgraded ultra clear LED for a brighter LED. 

*Several modifications for a Higher Fidelity.

*Output section is Modified that gives the pedal more mojo with it's response to your guitar and amount of Overdrive dialed in.

If you are out after a pure straight out top notch Overdrive pedal that has some versatility (thanks to the toggle) this is your pedal. This is an overdrive for the tone purists.  Stand out and make your tone shine.
